ATMs were developed by Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais, DSc, as he learned to live with the pain from his own disabling knee injuries. His lessons engage your thinking, sensing, feeling, and moving in ways which stimulate the dynamic neuroplasticity of your brain. Neuroplasticity is your brain’s incredible ability to grow new neurons, develop new patterns of movement and behavior, and reorganize old ones.
Not only are you invited by your certified teacher to do only what is simple and accessible, you’ll also rest often to enhance your brain’s potential. With this approach, you focus on your own self-organization and self-regulation which shifts your brain to relinquish habituated and sometimes unhelpful movement patterns.You can gain ease and comfort by moving safely, gently, and slowly during lessons.
Dr. Feldenkrais developed more than a thousand ATMs which examine every aspect of human movement and from multiple positions.
